    pada linux distro RHEL atau CentOS, terutama versi 4.x dan 5.x (pengalaman he..he..), ada paket namanya vnc-client dan vnc-server. fungsinya sebagai remote desktop koneksi ke server linux RHEL atau CentOS.

    1. install vnc
    # rpm -uvh vnc*

    2. edit default x-display
    # nano /etc/sysconfig/vncservers
    # x-display nomor 5 untuk root, 6 untuk oracle
    # jangan gunakan 0, karena default di server
    VNCSERVERS=”5:root 6:oracle”

    3. buat password default root dan oracle
    # vncpasswd –> root
    $ vncpasswd –> oracle

    4. restart vnc service
    # /etc/init.d/vncserver restart

    5. edit xstartup agar hasilnya normal desktop
    # nano /root/.vnc/xstartup
    # nano /home/oracle/.vnc/xstartup

    # Uncomment the following two lines for normal desktop:
    unset SESSION_MANAGER
    exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc

    6. restart vnc service
    # /etc/init.d/vncserver restart

    7. have fun with vnc from windows and linux.
    a. windows : vncviewer –> IP_server:5 (root)
    b. windows : vncviewer –> IP_server:6 (oracle)
    c. linux : vncviewer –> IP_server:5 (root)
    d. linux : vncviewer –> IP_server:6 (oracle)
